Volunteering with Garden District Corporation is a simple way to support food access in Columbus through community-based agriculture. Whether you are brand new to growing or you have years of experience, you are welcome here. You will join a friendly crew, learn by doing, and help move fresh produce from our fields into the community.
What you might do
• Plant and harvest produce
• Weed, water, and maintain growing areas
• Wash and pack produce for distribution
• Help with special projects and seasonal farm tasks
When we volunteer
Volunteer hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 9:00 am. We do not volunteer on holidays or during inclement weather.
Volunteer as a Group

Group volunteer days are a great fit for employee teams, student organizations, faith communities, and neighborhood groups that want a meaningful, hands-on service experience. We will match your group with a clear project, provide on-site guidance, and make sure everyone leaves knowing exactly how their work supported local food access.
Great group projects include
• Garden and farm maintenance, such as weeding, mulching, and bed prep
• Harvest, wash, and pack projects during peak season
• Site cleanups and seasonal revitalization tasks
• Special build days based on current needs
When groups can volunteer
Most group projects take place Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 9:00 am. Weather and safety always come first, and we do not volunteer on holidays or during inclement weather.
