The Wexner Heritage Rooftop Garden sits atop Wexner Heritage Village, one of our service partner agencies. We harvest food here and share it with the patients and staff who spend their days in the building, bringing just-picked produce to a community that has cared for Columbus seniors for more than 75 years. We also grow cut flowers on the roof, and bud vases from the garden go to patients' rooms throughout the season.
Once a month, we donate a harvest from the roof to Jewish Family Services, so the garden feeds the neighborhood as well as the people below it. It is a different kind of GDC site, smaller and higher up, but it does the same thing every garden in our network does: grow food close to the people who will eat it.
Fresh Food Connect links food pantries with fresh produce from backyard gardens and local farms, and The Garden District Corporation is the Franklin County operator. Potager is the proof of concept: a residential backyard growing for pantries, markets, and a citywide network. If you grow more than you can use, download the app and share the extra with a pantry near you.

With 75 years of experience caring for seniors and their families, we've built our success on a reputation for excellence and compassion. That's why area physicians and hospitals most often recommend Wexner Heritage Village.

Jewish Family Services creates a critical and lasting impact across a wide range of communities – both Jewish and non-Jewish – bringing the dignity of self-reliance, of independence, of financial stability and of mind and spirit to everyone they encounter.
