The LSS Community Farm sits on land owned by the LSS Food Pantry, and everything grown here goes straight into the pantry. On average, the farm produces around 2,500 pounds of fresh produce each season, harvested and shared through the pantry with families across the neighborhood.
Volunteers grow the farm during early-morning community cultivations, where neighbors plant, weed, and harvest alongside our team. It is one of the clearest examples of what the Garden District is built to do: grow food where it is needed and get it to people the same day.
Fresh Food Connect links food pantries with fresh produce from backyard gardens and local farms, and The Garden District Corporation is the Franklin County operator. Potager is the proof of concept: a residential backyard growing for pantries, markets, and a citywide network. If you grow more than you can use, download the app and share the extra with a pantry near you.
