The Garden District began as a backyard garden in a Columbus neighborhood, initially producing an abundance of food for a two-person household. The Garden District began as a backyard garden in a Columbus neighborhood, initially producing an abundance of food for a two-person household. The first year saw 700 pounds of donations, prompting its growth into a thriving volunteer community garden program. Now comprising 8 different garden locations, we supplement food pantries and local communities with sustainably grown and harvested produce. Our mission is to nourish our community, foster a deeper connection with nature, and combat food insecurity. As an LGBTQAI+-led 501(c)3 organization, The Garden District proudly serves as a safe space for all.
