Potager Fresh Market Garden is a residential backyard on College Avenue and the headquarters of The Garden District Corporation. It is where our model took shape in 2020: grow food close to home, get it to the people who need it, and show what one yard can do for the local food system.
The produce grown here goes to our farmers markets and to the service partner agencies we supply. This is also where we start seedlings for our community gardens and farms across Columbus, and where we grow microgreens so fresh food keeps reaching partner pantries beyond the outdoor growing season.
Potager is both a working garden and a demonstration garden. Everything here fits in a space most households already have, which is the point. If you want to see how a backyard becomes part of a stronger local food system, this is where it all starts.
Fresh Food Connect links food pantries with fresh produce from backyard gardens and local farms, and The Garden District Corporation is the Franklin County operator. Potager is the proof of concept: a residential backyard growing for pantries, markets, and a citywide network.
